To take the maximum advantage of your holidays, it is advisable that you follow certain security tips that will help you to reduce the bad experiences.
Next we present some advice you may take into account to have safe holidays:
- Make a plan of the journey. This plan should have information such as: time of departure, the route to follow to go out of the city, gas stations where you can load fuel, the highway you will use to arrive to your destination, time and places where you plan to stop for eating.
- Before you go out of your house, make a budget of the money you should take in cash since in general Mexico 's highways do not have banks or ATMs from where to take some money out.
- Before taking the highway, fill the tank with fuel to the top and check the levels of oil, window cleaners, brakes fluid, antifreeze and the pressure in the tires. It is advisable to have the car checked a few days before departing with a mechanic or at the agency since there may be some flaws that can be difficult to repair in a short time.
- Try to travel during the day. You will probable find more traffic but it is easier to drive in the daylight and also to receive help when you need it.
- All the members of the family should use the seatbelt at all times. The children have to go in the back seat with their seatbelt on.
- Prepare all the necessary documents to travel, such as the license, the circulation card, the insurance policy and the passport in case you go abroad, all beforehand.
- Respect the signs and the speed limits.
- Take addresses and telephones of the destination you are heading to (hotel, friends and/or relatives) as well as emergency telephones.
