Safety recommendations for car drivers .

• Do not leave minors alone inside the car.
• Have the car key ready to open your vehicle.
• Get into the car and lock it before starting the car.
• Put your seatbelt on and ask the other members to do the same.
• Travel with your windows closed. If it is too hot or you smoke, leave a space open enough to ventilate the car.
• Do not drive through dark streets, or park your car in them.
• When you travel by night, try to do it with other people.
• Do not give “lifts” to strangers.
• At the crosses or stops have your car in the first speed ready to start.
• When you go out the car, do not leave the keys or valuable or attractive objects despite you are just going to take some minutes.
• Do not ever leave your house or office's keys inside the car.
• Once you go out the car, make sure it is locked.
• If when you return to the car you notice the presence of someone strange near or inside it, go away and call the police. Do not try by any reason to attack the subject.
• Try to take just the license and the circulation card with you in order to avoid losses or the robbery of other documents.
• When you have to park in a place with valet-parking, make sure you know the entity that will respond for you car. Do not give your keys to any person.
• If it is possible, try to install some kind of alarm, device or security chain, this will make the robbery of the car harder.
• If you can, try to get an insurance policy.
• Avoid discussions and violence due to car incidents.
• If your vehicle's defenses are hit intentionally, remain in the interior, locked, with the windows closed and keep going.
• If you consider you are being followed, blow the horn insistently and go to a police department or to a crowded place. For this, make sure the horn is in good conditions.
• Keep you vehicle in good mechanical and electrical conditions.
• Make sure the vehicle has enough gas to go and get back with no risks.
• Take pen and paper in the car to write down useful information.
• You may talk to thieves who apparently have problems with their cars. Do not stop and if you doubt send help as soon as you can.
• In the case of a robbery, keep calm and do not resist to the thieves.
• Drive carefully. Respect the signs and rules of the traffic.
